Birdie Brooches, knitting and cushion cover

This week I had a lovely day with visiting daughter and we got down to some serious crafting. She made a cushion with a bit of help and here it is.
Rummaging through my material patches she rather liked the more muted colours which would suit her front room but with a bit of a 'quirk' added! As she's never made anything like this before she has done a very good job.

While she was busy with that I made some little birdie brooches from the paper clay that Florence the folk art doll was made with.

Close up of Becca the Bird.
She has decoupaged little hearts. I painted some paper red and then used a little heart punch to get the shapes. Somebody suggested making some into a mobile which is a good idea. Another thing for my to do list!

Funnily enough as dd was crocheting the head/wrist warmers in another part of the country, unbeknown to both of us I was knitting the same thing! These are a present to her.
I found a pattern for the gloves which uses just 2 needles as I get a bit flummoxed with the 4 needle method. It is here. I then did my own thing with them once I knew how many stitches needed casting on, and where to put the thumb.
The head warmer has large poppers on the back which are covered over with two brown buttons. I just kept knitting until it went around the head in a cable stitch.
It's knitted in an aran wool that I had left over from a cardigan that was made at the begining of the year, so they are quite quick to knit. The flower has a little blue bead sewn on and then 2 dangly bits were added and then 5 little beads were attached. I think I might make some for myself now.....used all the wool up. Oh dear will have to go to the wool shop, what a shame!!

I hope that you have been doing lots of crafty makes.
